The course provides both theoretical and practical training in fashion illustration, pattern drafting, garment construction, textile knowledge, and fashion business management. Upon completion, learners are prepared for employment in the fashion industry or self-employment as fashion designers and garment producers.

UNIT Title: PATTERN DRAFTING 

Course Description

Pattern Drafting is a unit designed to equip learners with the knowledge and practical skills required to create garment patterns from body measurements. The unit focuses on the principles and techniques of drafting basic and advanced patterns used in garment construction. Learners will be able to take accurate body measurements, draft patterns on paper, interpret design requirements, and prepare patterns ready for fabric cutting and garment production.

The unit also introduces learners to pattern symbols, layout techniques, and pattern modification to achieve proper garment fit and design accuracy. Emphasis is placed on precision, accuracy, and proper use of drafting tools and equipment.
